North Lakhimpur University marked a historic milestone on 30th September 2026 with the convening of its first Executive Council (EC) meeting. The Council took several major decisions aimed at accelerating the growth of the newly established University.

Among the key decisions, the Executive Council adopted more than 20 new Regulations covering academics, research, and other important aspects of University governance. The Council also approved the establishment of two new Chairs at the University, named in honour of Padmanath Gohain Baruah and Biswanarayan Shastri, two illustrious sons of Lakhimpur whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

These decisions lay a strong foundation for academic excellence, research, and institutional growth in the years ahead.
